程心，文学博士，上海外国语大学英语学院讲师。研究兴趣是19世纪末20世纪初的英美小说和美国女性文学。主持并完成教育部人文社科一项，主持上海市社科基金一项。在《外国文学评论》、《国外文学》、《当代外国文学》等期刊发表论文近20篇。出版专著1部。
内容简介：
The lecture will provide a general view of Chinese film and bring about a discussion of the awakening self-consciousness of human beings in contemporary Chinese films, Farewell My Concubine(霸王别姬，1993) and Still Life（三峡好人，2006）. In this introductory lecture, we will examine and assess the aesthetic form and the socio-political content of the two films. Using each film as a starting point, the speaker tries to engage several larger topics, including history, sexuality and modernity, in modern China.
Only clipswill be screened in class. Watching the films on your own time before attending the lecture is highly recommended.
