主讲人简介：
王恩铭，博士，教授，在上海外国语大学英语学院为本科、硕士和博士生开设美国文化、美国思想史、现代美国妇女和美国文化经典导读等课程。王恩铭数次获得美国富布赖特、美国斯特尔、美国全国人文学科和中国留基委等基金组织的奖学金，在美国威斯康辛-麦迪逊大学、肯萨斯-劳伦斯大学、香港大学、香港城市大学和德国拜罗伊特大学留学、访问和开展合作研究项目。王恩铭在美国文化研究领域出版了5部专著、编写了6部教材、发表了近60篇论文、翻译了2部作品。
讲座简介：
The lecture is designed to discuss the relationship between American culture and English learning, arguing that while English language can be acquired in and of itself in a language-learning setting, a better command of English will be achieved when a cultural dimension is added to the process of language acquisition per se. Throughout the discussion, many heavily culturally-loaded terms from American English will be provided to illustrate, indeed to establish, such close ties between language learning and cultural sensitivity.
